Texas SUV Crash:
At 8:30 am on May 7th, 2023 George Alvarez crashed his car into another car containing multiple migrants outside a migrant shelter in Brownsville Texas. During the crash, eight migrants were tragically killed and ten more were injured. George Alvarez has a criminal history and tried to escape when he hit the SUV. He was charged with multiple counts of manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Migrant witness Kendal Madrid was said to have seen Alvarez shouting anti-migrant slurs.

Allen, Texas Mall Shooting:
On Saturday, May 6th, 2023 nine people were killed in a mass shooting at Allen, Texas. On Sunday local police determined the shooter was Mauricio Garcia who acted alone. The gunman and eight others were killed while at least seven were hospitalized. Injured civilians were from ages five to sixty-one. Police are still trying to figure out what the motive was for this tragic shooting but they suspect it has to do with racist ideology after viewing Garcia’s social media posts.

King Charles Coronation:
King Charles was pronounced King on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at Westminster Abbey. He was crowned with St. Edward’s Crown which is saved for crowning new monarchs by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. Queen Camila was seen wearing a cream-colored dress from designer Bruce Oldfield with more of a coat-like style which is seen as non-traditional. Five-year-old Prince Louis was caught yawning during their ceremony and had to briefly step out. Prince Harry attended the coronation without Meghan or the children. To end a wonderful coronation there was a flyby done by the British Royal Air Force.
